Bio:
Bitossi is an Italian ceramics manufacturer whose history dates back to 1921, when Guido Bitossi established the company in Montelupo Fiorentino near Florence. The factory gained international recognition for its experimental glazes, bold colours and sculptural forms. Particularly under the artistic direction of Aldo Londi from 1946, Bitossi developed a distinctive design language characterised by textured surfaces, geometric decorations and strong colour contrasts. The company's ceramics from the 1950s through the 1970s are now highly sought after by collectors of Italian design.
