The snails feature rounded, intricately decorated shells with delicate dotted patterns and pale bodies with naturalistic details. Bio:
Karl Ens (1859–1920) was a German porcelain manufacturer associated with Volkstedt in Thuringia, a historic centre of German porcelain production. The Karl Ens porcelain factory became particularly renowned for its naturalistic animal figurines, including birds, butterflies and other small creatures, characterised by detailed modelling, vibrant colours and hand-painted decoration. The factory continued production after his death, and its porcelain figurines from the first half of the 20th century are now highly sought after by collectors.
