Bio:
Karl Ens (1859–1920) was a German porcelain manufacturer associated with Volkstedt in Thuringia, a historic centre of German porcelain production. The Karl Ens porcelain factory became particularly renowned for its naturalistic animal figurines, including birds and butterflies, characterised by detailed modelling, vibrant colours and hand-painted decoration. The factory continued production after his death, and its porcelain figurines from the first half of the 20th century are now highly sought after by collectors.
