Louis Vuitton was founded in Paris in 1854 by Louis Vuitton (1821–1892) and began as a manufacturer of travel trunks. The distinctive monogram was introduced in 1896 by his son Georges Vuitton. The company subsequently expanded its production to include bags, small leather goods, accessories and mobile phone cases.
