Bio:
Émile Gallé (1846–1904) was a French glass artist, ceramicist and furniture designer from Nancy and a central figure of Art Nouveau. His interest in botany strongly influenced his design language, with flowers, plants and other natural motifs integrated into the form and decoration of his glass. Gallé developed and refined numerous techniques involving layered, etched and worked glass and was a co-founder of the École de Nancy in 1901. Following his death in 1904, the workshop continued production under the Gallé name.
