Bio:
Jørgen Mogensen (1927–2017) was a Danish ceramicist and sculptor who trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen. He joined Royal Copenhagen in 1949, working with stoneware and developing a distinctive vocabulary of stylised animals and robust sculptural forms. In 1965, he established his own studio and continued producing ceramic sculptures and reliefs, with fish and other animal motifs becoming recurring elements in his work.
