Round-form vase in white opal glass, decorated with irregular applied glass threads in shades of blue, grey, and pink. The model is from the Atlantis series, designed by Michael Bang for Holmegaard around 1980. The series was produced using multiple layers of glass and is distinguished by its characteristic coloured glass decorations.

Bio:
Michael Bang (1944–2013) was a Danish designer and the son of glass designer Jacob E. Bang. He trained as a ceramicist with Bjørn Wiinblad and at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory before working at Ekenäs Glassworks in Sweden. From 1968, he was associated with the Fyens, Kastrup and Holmegaard glassworks, where he designed both functional and art glass. His notable designs include the Palet series, the Atlantis series from around 1980 and the Fontaine series from 1987.
