Bio:
Michael Bang (1944–2013) was a Danish designer and the son of glass designer Jacob E. Bang. Trained as a ceramicist, he worked with Bjørn Wiinblad and the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory before gaining experience in glass at Ekenäs Glassworks in Sweden. In 1968, he joined Kastrup-Holmegaard Glassworks, where he created functional and art glass over several decades. The Atlantis series was designed around 1980 and is distinguished by opal glass with free-flowing, wave-like coloured inclusions.
