Bio:
Nils Kähler (1906–1979) was a Danish ceramicist and the fourth generation of the Kähler family. Together with his brother Herman Jørgen Kähler, he took over the family workshop in Næstved in 1940, with Nils assuming responsibility for its artistic direction. He became particularly known for his thrown stoneware, restrained modernist forms and distinctive glazes. His production included large vases, bowls and other functional and artistic ceramics, and he played an important role in renewing Kähler's ceramic production during the mid-20th century.
