Antique pier mirror with a tall, narrow format and richly decorated gilt frame in Rococo style. The frame features pierced ornamentation, scrolling foliage and an elaborate crest to the top. The narrow proportions are characteristic of pier mirrors, originally designed for placement on the wall pier between windows or other narrow wall sections.
