Bio:
The Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin was founded by Frederick the Great in 1763 and ranks among Europe’s important historic porcelain manufactories. Throughout its long history, the factory has maintained an extensive tradition of sculptural porcelain, with animal figures forming a significant part of its production. KPM was producing small animal figurines by the late 18th century, and this tradition continued into the 20th century with both naturalistic and more stylised models. The royal sceptre has served as the manufactory’s trademark since 1763.
