Royal Copenhagen was founded in Copenhagen in 1775 as the Royal Porcelain Factory. Blue Fluted is the factory’s historic blue decoration, and Half Lace is a development of the classic Blue Fluted service distinguished by its more elaborate border decoration. Executed in fluted porcelain with hand-painted cobalt-blue motifs, the pattern is among Royal Copenhagen’s most characteristic porcelain services.
