Bio:
Gunnar Nylund (1904–1996) was a Danish-Finnish-Swedish ceramicist, sculptor and designer, born in Paris. After working at Bing & Grøndahl and establishing Saxbo with Nathalie Krebs, he became artistic director at Rörstrand. There he played an important role in the development of Swedish stoneware and became particularly known for his organic forms, refined glazes and sculptural works. Nylund is regarded as an important figure in 20th-century Scandinavian ceramics.
