Bio:
Tom Krestesen (1927–2017) was a Danish-born artist who spent most of his artistic career in Sweden. After moving to Sweden, he entered the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 1950, studying there until 1956 under artists including Sven X-et Erixson, Bror Hjorth and Olle Nyman. From the late 1950s onwards, he became active in the Swedish exhibition scene while also exhibiting repeatedly in Denmark. His work encompasses painting and watercolour and ranges between expressive, abstract and figurative approaches. Krestesen maintained strong connections with Danish art and became a member of the Danish artists association Decembristerne.
