Bio:
Lars Bertle (b. 1925 in Helsingborg) is a self-taught Swedish visual artist who began working as a full-time artist in the late 1960s. He is particularly known for landscapes, although his oeuvre also encompasses figure subjects, still lifes, and more abstract compositions. Nature, the sea, and landscape are recurring sources of inspiration, interpreted through a free, expressive, and colouristic visual language with pronounced textural brushwork and palette-knife application. Bertle is represented in collections including Helsingborg Museum, the Swedish National Public Art Council, and Landskrona Museum.
