Bio:
Albert Merz (born 1942) is a Swiss painter and printmaker who studied at the Lucerne School of Art and later at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he has lived and worked for decades. Initially associated with the Neue Wilde movement, he developed a distinctive visual language built around signs, symbols, and archetypal forms. His prints and paintings balance expressive linear gestures with structured compositions and vibrant colour, and his work has been widely exhibited and traded throughout Europe.
