Bio:
Bengt Lissegårdh (1912–1979) was a Swedish sculptor, printmaker, painter, and woodcut artist. He studied at the Technical School in Stockholm, the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts under Erik Grate, and later in London with Henry Moore and John Farleigh. He subsequently taught drawing and sculpture at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and completed numerous public commissions throughout Sweden. His works are represented in major collections including the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, Gothenburg Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the New York Public Library.
