Bio:
Louis Zelig (Vasile Zelig, 1922–1993) was a Romanian-born Swedish painter and printmaker. He studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest before emigrating to Sweden after the Second World War, where he continued his education at the Skåne School of Painting in Malmö. His work ranges from landscapes to expressive figurative and abstract compositions characterised by bold brushwork, vivid colour and a distinctive modernist style. Zelig exhibited extensively throughout Sweden and internationally, including in Paris, Los Angeles, New York and Málaga, and his works are represented in museum and public collections in Sweden and Romania.
