Bio:
Pont d'Austerlitz, built between 1801 and 1807 and widened in the late nineteenth century, is one of the best-known bridges crossing the Seine. Its distinctive architecture, changing light, and sweeping views of the Paris skyline have inspired generations of artists, from the Impressionists to later Expressionist painters, who favoured energetic brushwork and atmospheric colour over literal representation.
