Berndt Friberg for Gustavsberg, bowl.

Small stoneware bowl from Gustavsberg's "Selecta" series with a light cream glaze and elegant ribbed decoration. The model was designed by Berndt Friberg and produced during the 1960s or 1970s.

Origin: Sweden.
Designer: Berndt Friberg.
Material: Stoneware.
Dimensions: H. 6 cm, D. 10 cm.
Period: 1960/70s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Berndt Friberg (1899–1981) was one of Sweden’s most celebrated ceramic artists and worked at Gustavsberg from 1934 until 1981. He is particularly renowned for his perfectly thrown forms and technically refined hare’s fur glazes, which made his works highly sought after by collectors worldwide. Friberg is regarded as one of the most important Scandinavian ceramicists of the twentieth century.
