Royal Copenhagen, set of six dinner plates.

Rare set of six hand-painted dinner plates featuring a bird motif. The plates are model 550/8097 and were produced by Royal Copenhagen in the 1920s. All examples were factory seconds and are marked with one incised cancellation line through the factory mark.

Origin: Denmark.
Material: Hand-painted porcelain.
Dimensions: D. 25 cm.
Period: 1920s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 under royal patronage and remains one of Denmark’s most celebrated porcelain manufacturers. The company gained international recognition for its hand-painted decoration and exceptional craftsmanship. During the first half of the twentieth century, Royal Copenhagen produced a number of special decorative services and limited motifs that are highly sought after by collectors today.
