Bernt Friberg for Gustavsberg, large vase.

Large cylindrical stoneware vase with a deep reddish-brown hare's fur glaze and an elegant slender form. Produced at the Gustavsberg Studio and dated 1964. A characteristic example of Bernt Friberg’s exceptional craftsmanship and mastery of glaze techniques.

Origin: Sweden.
Designer: Bernt Friberg (1899–1981).

Bio:
Bernt Friberg (1899–1981) was one of Sweden’s most celebrated ceramic artists. He spent most of his career at Gustavsberg, where he gained an international reputation for his perfectly thrown forms and sophisticated glazes. Friberg’s work is represented in museums worldwide and is regarded as among the finest achievements of twentieth-century Scandinavian studio ceramics.
