Elegant stoneware pitcher from Gustavsberg’s Selecta series featuring Bernt Friberg’s characteristic hare’s fur glaze in a brownish pink tone. Executed in a simple and harmonious form with a slender handle and organic spout. Unmarked example.

Bio:
Bernt Friberg (1899–1981) was one of Sweden’s most celebrated ceramic artists and worked at Gustavsberg from 1934 until 1981. He became internationally renowned for his exceptionally refined wheel-thrown forms and sophisticated hare’s fur glazes, many of which were developed in close collaboration with master glaze specialist Sven Hofverberg. Friberg’s works are considered among the finest achievements of Swedish studio ceramics and are represented in museums and important collections worldwide.
