Bio:
The Qing dynasty ruled China from 1644 to 1912 and is renowned for its flourishing porcelain production with highly refined hand-painted decoration and sophisticated glazes. During the 19th century, Chinese export porcelain became especially popular in Europe, where colourful tableware with figural scenes and floral motifs was highly sought after among collectors and the upper classes. Many porcelain workshops produced unmarked hand-painted wares of fine quality for both the domestic and export markets.
