Bio:
Monica Backström (1939–2020) was a leading Swedish glass designer, renowned for her groundbreaking work for Kosta Boda from the late 1950s onward. Her designs frequently combined bold colours, innovative sculptural forms, and technical experimentation, establishing her as a major figure in modern Scandinavian glass design. Backström remains especially celebrated for her striking art glass works produced from the 1960s through the 1980s.
