Elegant hand-thrown miniature stoneware vase with rounded body, narrow neck and vibrant hare’s fur glaze in turquoise, violet and cream tones. Studio marked and retaining original factory sticker.
Origin: Sweden.
Designer: Berndt Friberg (1899–1981).
Material: Stoneware.
Dimensions: H. 5 cm, D. 4 cm.
Period: Mid-20th century.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
Berndt Friberg was one of Sweden’s most celebrated ceramic artists and worked for Gustavsberg from 1934 until 1981. He is internationally renowned for his exceptionally precise hand-thrown forms and sophisticated hare’s fur glazes, often executed in small-scale formats with extraordinary technical refinement. Friberg’s works are considered among the finest achievements of Nordic studio ceramics.
