Set of two Japanese vases with hand-painted decoration.
Elegant pair of glazed porcelain vases with a deep blue ground and richly decorated motifs of peacocks, flowers, and foliage in gilt and polychrome tones. Marked with a “Made in Japan” label on the base.
Origin: Japan.
Material: Porcelain.
Dimensions: H. 15 cm, D. 8 cm.
Period: 1970s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
Japanese porcelain production in the 20th century was renowned for its high level of craftsmanship and intricate decoration, often inspired by traditional nature motifs such as birds and flowers. In the post-war period, many pieces were produced for export and marked “Made in Japan”, making them desirable decorative collectibles today.
