Kristian Zahrtmann (1843–1917), watercolor of an Italian woman in a gray painted wooden frame and mounted with glass.

The painting is signed and dated 1901.

The painting is a bust of a girl, typical of Zahrtmann's style, where he often depicted people with a strong character and striking color choices. He is particularly known for his many years in the Italian mountain town of Civita d'Antino, where he painted the local people and their daily lives. His works from this period are often characterized by the "rainbow colors" for which he was both criticized and praised.

Frame dimensions 42.0 x 36.5 cm. The work itself measures 30.5 x 24.5 cm.
