Bio:
Anja Jaatinen-Winquist (1934–2015) was a Finnish ceramic artist and designer. After graduating from the Institute of Industrial Art in 1955, she worked for five years as an assistant to Aune Siimes and then continued in Arabia’s Product Design Department until 1974. She designed numerous tableware services and decorations, including the Karelia model with iron-oxide decoration. A highly skilled wheel-thrower, she also produced unique stoneware pieces, often using matte brown glazes, and mixed her own stoneware clay.
