Bio:
Scandinavian painting in the 1960s and 1970s was often characterised by a free and expressive approach to landscape subjects. Many artists worked with energetic brushwork, thick layers of paint and spontaneous compositions in which colour and surface texture played a central role. Such works continue the Nordic modernist tradition, where the forms and atmosphere of nature are interpreted through a personal and painterly visual language.
