Bio:
Gunnar Fohlin (1924–1998) was a Swedish painter, printmaker and craftsman. He worked with both figurative and abstract expressions and employed a range of techniques including drawing, gouache, graphic printmaking and painting on paper. Fohlin’s work is often characterised by energetic brushwork and a strong sense of colour fields and rhythmic composition. He exhibited regularly in Sweden during the second half of the twentieth century and formed part of the broader modernist movement in Scandinavian art.
