Bio:
Ejnar Hansen (1884–1965) was a Danish-born American painter and educator. Born in Copenhagen, he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and was associated with the modernist group De Tretten, which opposed academic tradition and explored expressionist tendencies. Hansen emigrated to the United States in 1914 and later settled in Pasadena, California, where he taught at institutions including Chouinard Art Institute and Otis Art Institute. His work includes portraits, landscapes and still lifes, and is represented in major collections such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Laguna Art Museum.
