Bio:
Founded in 1710, Meissen is Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory. The crossed swords mark, introduced in the 1720s, is one of the most recognisable porcelain marks worldwide and signifies authenticity and high quality. In the early 20th century, Meissen continued to produce classical lidded bowls with hand-painted floral decoration, characterised by refined proportions, meticulous workmanship, and continuity with the manufactory’s long-standing porcelain traditions.
