Mari Simmulson for Upsala Ekeby, vase.
Organically shaped glazed ceramic vase with a narrow neck and softly curved body. Finished in a light yellow glaze with darker speckling and vertical tonal variation, creating a lively, textured surface. Model number 4433.

Origin: Sweden.
Designer: Mari Simmulson.
Material: Glazed ceramic.
Dimensions: H. 23 cm, D. 10 cm.
Period: Approx. 1960s.
Condition: Very good condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer who worked for many years at Upsala Ekeby. She is noted for decorative forms within Scandinavian modernism, often characterised by expressive glazes and surface effects. Upsala Ekeby was one of Sweden’s most important ceramic producers in the mid-20th century, creating both functional wares and studio-style art ceramics across a wide range of series, many of which are highly collectible today.
