Oval relief plaque in white biscuit porcelain with a classical female profile portrait, mounted in a moulded oval wooden frame. The matte biscuit surface lends the piece a sculptural, cameo-like character with finely rendered details.

Origin: Germany.
Material: Biscuit porcelain and wood.
Dimensions: H. 18 cm, D. 3 cm.
Period: c. 1970s.
Condition: Excellent condition with light, age-related wear.

Bio:
Meissen, founded in 1710, is Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory and is renowned for its technical mastery and artistic excellence. Biscuit porcelain has been part of Meissen’s production since the 18th century and is particularly well suited to portrait reliefs, where its soft, marble-like surface enhances sculptural modelling.
