Meissen Biscuit plaque, c. 1970s.
Oval relief plaque in white biscuit porcelain with a classical female profile portrait, mounted in a moulded oval wooden frame. The matte biscuit surface highlights the finely modelled hair and facial features, giving the piece a calm, sculptural presence.

Origin: Germany.
Material: Biscuit porcelain and wood.

Condition: Excellent condition with light, age-related wear.

Bio:
Meissen, founded in 1710, is Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory and is internationally renowned for its artistic and technical excellence. Biscuit porcelain has been part of Meissen’s production since the 18th century and is particularly suited to portrait and relief work, where its soft, marble-like surface enhances sculptural form and detail.
