Small relief plaque in white biscuit porcelain with a classical profile portrait, mounted in a square wooden frame with an oval opening. The matte biscuit surface emphasises the soft contours of the face and hair, giving the piece a calm, sculptural appearance.

Origin: Germany.
Material: Biscuit porcelain and wood.
Dimensions: H. 8 cm, W. 7 cm.
Period: c. 1970s.
Condition: Excellent condition with light, age-related wear.

Bio:
Meissen, founded in 1710, is Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory and is internationally renowned for its artistic and technical excellence. Biscuit porcelain has formed part of Meissen’s production since the 18th century and is particularly suited to portrait and relief plaques, where its soft, marble-like surface enhances sculptural form and detail.
