Bio:
Josef Riedel and the Polaun works are regarded as some of the most important producers of Czech art glass from the first half of the 20th century. During the 1930s and 40s, the Art Deco aesthetic was expressed through bold, architectural forms and rich colours, often realised in heavy, mouth-blown glass. Large trumpet vases like this combine practical use with strong sculptural presence and are highly sought after by collectors today.
