Slim and elegant stoneware vase from Gunnar Nylund’s “Banderillo” series, characterized by pronounced horizontal bands in blue-green and darker tones set against a light ground. The carefully balanced form with a gently narrowed neck gives the vase an architectural and rhythmic appearance, typical of Nylund’s work during the 1960s.

Bio:
Gunnar Nylund was one of the most influential Swedish ceramic designers of the 20th century and served as artistic director at Rörstrand from 1931 to 1955. The “Banderillo” series demonstrates his refined sense of proportion, rhythm, and graphic surface decoration, using repeated bands and subtle color contrasts to achieve a calm modernist expression. His works are today highly sought after within Scandinavian modern design.
