Antique demitasse cup with matching saucer in the Blue Fluted Plain pattern. The cup is made in the classic smooth form without lace border and decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue underglaze in the iconic fluted pattern. A refined early example of Royal Copenhagen coffee ware from the late 19th century.

Introduced in 1775, Blue Fluted Plain is Royal Copenhagen’s oldest and most historically significant service. Demitasse cups were traditionally used for serving strong coffee and are today highly sought after by collectors, particularly early examples from the 19th century.
