Art Deco bowl in frosted and polished glass featuring large, curved feather-leaf reliefs, a classic early Lalique motif. The interplay between matte and clear surfaces enhances the sculptural depth of the design.
Origin: France.
Material: Pressed glass, frosted and polished.
Dimensions: H. 9 cm, D. 24 cm.
Period: c. 1930s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
René Lalique (1860–1945) was one of the most influential glass designers of the Art Deco era. His work blended natural motifs—particularly feathers, foliage and animals—with technically sophisticated glassmaking methods. Early models from the 1920s and 30s, including no. 3229, are highly prized for their refined proportions and nuanced contrast between frosted and polished surfaces.
