Two porcelain cream jugs in Meissen’s classic “Zwiebelmuster” blue onion pattern, hand-painted in cobalt blue on white porcelain. Organic bulbous forms with curved handles and scalloped rims. One example 1st quality, the other 3rd quality.

Bio: Founded in 1710, Meissen was the first European manufactory to successfully produce hard-paste porcelain, establishing a standard of technical and artistic excellence. The “Blue Onion” pattern, introduced in the 1730s, remains one of Meissen’s most recognisable and continuously produced decorations, prized for its delicate cobalt underglaze painting and long-standing craft tradition.
