Two ashtrays, Aluminia.
Two square ceramic ashtrays with central recess and four cigarette rests. One in green glaze, one in brown glaze with impressed wave pattern.
Date: Mid-20th century.
Dimensions: Approx. 15 x 15 cm.
Condition: Excellent condition with minimal wear and signs of use.
Mark: Both marked to the underside with Aluminia stamp, model numbers “1819” and “1810”.
Short biography of Aluminia:
Aluminia Fajancefabrik was founded in 1863 in Copenhagen and specialised in faience with decorative glazes and patterns. The factory became known for its functional forms and vibrant colours. In 1882, Aluminia took over the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory but continued to produce under its own name until 1969, when the Aluminia name was discontinued.
