Carved wooden figure with gildings. Probably Hindu goddess. Goddesses in Hinduism are the divine representation of the cosmos and they are complementary to their male counterparts. Both the masculine and the feminine deities complete the divinity of the universe. The following are known female Hindu goddesses: Radha, Kamadhenu, Tulsi, Ganga, Sita, Kali, Seraswati, Lakshmi, Parvati and Durga.
The figure is 60 centimeters high and approx. 16 cm wide.
