Silver cutlerry from Georg Jensen silversmithy. Flatware Acanthus cake server no. 192, length 22.5 cm. 8 7/8 inches. with toweres marks, from 1917-1930. Fine condition, normal signs of use.
Designed by the painter, Johan Rohde, and produced since 1917. Johan Rohde , who lived for a time in Italy, was inspired by the antique style. This shows in the cutlery's pillar shaped handle which ends in a Corinthian capital with acanthus leaves. Johan Rohde began his close and lifelong association with Georg Jensen in 1906.
