Unusually detailed brooch in blue glass, depicting Thorvaldsen's "The Day" framed in silver.

The brooch is in good condition, but with two marks on the blue glass.

Unusually finely cut came with Thorvaldsen's motif "The Day" surrounded by small pearls in angular holders.

The motiv is designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen as part of a set, where the other part is "Night".

The set became some of Thorvaldsen's most popular motives. Each of them symbolizes the two parts of the day, and together they symbolize day and night as a whole.
