Twist was first manufactured at Aalborg glassworks in the 1890s and then at Holmegaard in a redesigned version from 1955.
This glass is of the early production. The glass is manganese coloured, which is due to an oversaturation of manganese, which was added to prevent the glass from turning grey.

The series is also called Amager.
