Table lamp from Knabstrup ceramics from the 1960s

Sold

Height 31 cm without socket and 39 cm. with socket

The lamp is with the original label.
Knabstrup Ceramics was founded in 1897 as a brick factory. In its first many years, Knabstrup was the major producer of flower pots, jars and other pottery items for the Danish kitchens.
Johannes Hansen was hired as an artistic director in 1953 and only then does the production of decorative things begin at the factory. A large number of known series are produced at Knabstrup, among others. Pernille series of spice jars and the well-known Pondus penguin.

Knabstrup is put together with Bjørn Wiinblad's workshop Nymølle in 1978, but closes in 1988.

The lamp is in coarse charmotte and glazed in top and bottom with a deliciously changing bluish glaze. It has a place where the glaze has pulled in the oven - it is not a chip.
