Rare Firepot Elephant

Sold

Height 17.5 cm.
Length 22 cm.
Width 22 cm.
Very rare Fire Pot elephant designed by Jeanne Grut for Royal Copenhagen.
Fire Pot is originally made in co-operation with Grethe Meyer in the 1970'is.

Jeanne Grut designed a large number of modern figures in the 1970s and 1980s, among other things. the big blue fish, a black swan, a couple of dogs and the well-known musk oxen in chamotte.

This elephant was originally made in faience and decorated as it carried a cover over it.

This version in Fire Pot is very likely made for an exhibition at Royal Copenhagen's flagship store in the 1980s, in a strong limited number. It has no model number and must be considered unique.

It is intended for baking bread - original recipe may be included.

It has an burnt ear at the ear - but is otherwise in perfect condition.
