Very rare and enormous Royal Copenhagen figurine, Faun fighting a turtle. On the first picture you can see a "normal" faun figurine to compare the size.
The factory mark tells, that this was produced between 1923 and 1928.
Designed by Knud Kyhn in 1929, so this is most likely one of the first pieces made of this figurine.
Decoration number 3082.
Factory first.
Height 46 cm., width 27 cm., depth 31 cm.
Despite the fact that the figure is first quality, it has a large firing defect on the back (see the second last picture please) . At that time, it was extremely difficult for the factory to fire the very large works without them having firing defects, so to avoid discarding them all, they allowed them to be sold - even with large firing defects.
Other than this the figurine is in excellent condition.
